Sömnadsglädje är den sanna glädjen!

Under Påskhelgen 2019 har jag lyckats sy lite. Nu har jag äntligen börjat få grepp om hur man skall hantera tygerna av kork. Har varit lite feg tidigare och inte vågat använda korktygerna, men nu tycker jag att det är riktigt roligt att använda små bitar av det här tyget som jag kombinerar med mina vanliga quilttyger. Varje gång jag sytt en ny liten väska eller necessär så känner jag mig lika glad. Det är så underbart att veta, att jag kan sy de här små väskorna alldeles själv. Just nu går jag ju i väntans tider, på att få hem tygerna från Bali. I morgon skall jag skriva till speditören för att kontrollera att de erhållit min betalning för transporten från Bali till Arlanda. Det skall verkligen bli spännande att få hem de här tygerna. Jag har även fått ett exemplar av Island Batik Fabrics vår och sommarkatalog 2019 och det kliar verkligen i fingrarna att beställa ytterligare någon kollektion av de här tygerna, men jag får kanske lugna mig till dess höst- och vinterkatalogen blir tillgänglig för att se vilka kollektioner de presenterar i den katalogen. Island Batik katalogen är en stor källa till inspiration och idéer för att sy nya och inspirerande quilt-block som kan kombineras ihop till stora eller små lapptäcken. Jag håller själv på att färdigställa två täcken där jag använt mig av de tygerna som jag kommer att få hem snart. Jag köpte ju på mig lite "Layer Cakes"  och s.k. Jelly Rolle stripes, av den här kollektionen. Hittills har jag haft lite svårt att klippa till eller skära till av de här tygerna, för de är så vackra att se på i sina originalförpackningar. Man blir glad av att ta fram dem och bara titta på dem.

During the Easter Holiday I have managed to make two small purses. I have just gotten hold of how to sew with the Cork Fabrics from Bellagio Fabrics, which I ordered during my visit to Houston in November 2018. I have now come to realize that it is no difference in sewing with the Cork Fabrics than sewing with ordinary cotton fabrics. It is so nice to combine the Cork Fabrics with my cotton quilt fabrics and the outcome of the finished bags and purses can be very interesting. I am also awaiting the shipment of Island Batik Fabrics, which are on their way from Bali to Arlanda Airport. I have to Contact the Shipping Compay tomorrow, and check the status of the delivery. Before the Easter Holiday, on Thursday last week, I also received a Catalogue from the Island Batik Fabric Collection for the Spring- and Summer edition 2019. I am so happy that I received a hard copy of the catalogue, because it is showing the Beautiful batik fabrics and is a lot of inspiration on how to use these fabrics. When i visitid Quilt Market in Houston in November 2018, I ordered the whole Collection of the Batik Fabric Series designed by Deb Tucker, the Twilight Chic fabrics. I also bought some "Layer Cakes" and "2,5 inch stipes" of this Fabric Series, and I am now making two quilts from these fabrics. In one quilt. I used the Deb Tucker pattern "Flight Path" and in the second one, I am making a quilt of my own Construction, but using all the fantastic quilt rulers designed by Deb Tucker. They enable me to make quilt blocks and to get a precise result every time I make a new block. I am so happy that I found these rulers. They are so great!!
